Today, September 26, 2025, the Tajik National University (TNU) was visited by Mr. Stefan Wolfrum, Assistant to the German Embassy in Tajikistan, and Ms. Gisela Zimmermann, the new Regional Director of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
During the visit, the guests met with the university leadership. The distinguished visitors were welcomed by the First Vice-Rector, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Rajabzoda F.K., and Vice-Rector for International Relations Gafforzoda I.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the development of bilateral cooperation, the organization of joint educational programs, as well as academic exchange of students and faculty members.
Ms. Zimmermann noted that TNU is one of DAAD’s key partners in the region and expressed her readiness to support the strengthening of cooperation in various fields of science and education — including through scholarship programs, training, internships, and research opportunities at German higher education institutions.
The university leadership expressed gratitude for the visit and confirmed its interest in further expanding scientific and academic ties with German universities.
