STATE FLAG OF THE REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN – A REFLECTION OF NATIONAL IDENTITY

On November 21, 2025, Tajik National University hosted a scientific-theoretical conference “State Flag of the Republic of Tajikistan – A Reflection of National Identity”, dedicated to State Flag Day.

The event opened with the performance of the National Anthem, followed by welcoming speech from the rector of TNU, professor Nasriddinzoda E.S. In his address, the rector emphasized that State Flag Day is one of the nation’s significant state holidays, highlighting Tajikistan as an independent, culturally rich, and strong country with a profound historical and civilizational heritage. He noted that every element of the national flag carries deep historical and cultural meaning and symbolizes the continuity of the spiritual, moral, and scientific values of the Tajik people.

Professor Nasriddinzoda also recalled the words of the Leader of the Nation, stressing that the State Flag represents the eternity of the state, national unity, and identity, serving as an important tool for educating youth in the spirit of pride for the country’s history and culture.

Speakers at the conference included Shabnam Rahimzoda, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Youth and Sports Affairs; Sharofuddinov Suhrob, Candidate of Historical Sciences and Associate Professor of the Department of Historiography and Archival Studies; Rajabov Imomiddin, Candidate of Political Sciences and Associate Professor of the Department of Political Processes; as well as Professors Mirzo Soleh and Shahboz Kabirov.

In addition, Alizoda Abdurashid, Candidate of Philological Sciences and Associate Professor of the Department of Television and Radio Broadcasting of the Faculty of Journalism, presented poetic excerpts from works by contemporary authors.

Participants and speakers emphasized that respect for the State Flag is a civic duty of every citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan, as the reverence for national symbols reflects respect for the nation and the state.
