Navruz is a\nholiday that is celebrated by people from diverse ethnic communities and\nreligious backgrounds for thousands of years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the Tajik\ncommunity, however, Navruz is very special and is known as spiritual New Year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The word \u201cNavruz\u201d\nmeans \u201cnew day\u201d, and it occurs at the Vernal Equinox, which marks the\ncommencement of spring. Normally, it falls on or around 21 March, but the date\ncan vary. And in Tajikistan, people celebrate for a full week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During Navruz\nholiday people wear colourful clothing and march in the streets for\nNavruz.  Navruz in Tajikistan is all\nabout national identity and national unity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tajik national\nuniversity widely celebrated this holiday. Each\nfaculty of the university, on the occasion of Navruz holiday, prepared a\nvariety of exhibitions, food, exciting performances, as well as the ensemble “Navruz”\nprepared a bright concert program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
