On 17 June, Tajik National University hosted the presentation of the IMF report \u201cCaucasus and Central Asia Economic Outlook \u2013 Divergent Recoveries in Turbulent Times.\u201d Analytical material was presented by the Deputy Director of the IMF Middle East and Central Asia Department, Mr. Subir Lall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was attended by the University’s management, academics and students, as well as Deputy Ministers of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan Yusuf Majidi and Sarvar Kurbonien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Subir Lall, who has significant experience in the IMF and is directly involved in the Middle East and Central Asia, made a presentation with assessments of the prospects for economic development of the countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report provides an analysis and assessments of the authors regarding the growth trends of the world economy, the factors affecting development and the necessary conditions required to maintain sustainable growth of the economies of the countries of the region. In this context, certain aspects of financial policy, the dynamics of exports and imports, income inequality and the impact of technological changes on the modern economy were considered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event ended with an active discussion, where the participants asked questions and received answers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
