
{"id":83520,"date":"2026-02-06T11:54:04","date_gmt":"2026-02-06T06:54:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tnu.tj\/?p=83520"},"modified":"2026-02-06T12:09:01","modified_gmt":"2026-02-06T07:09:01","slug":"from-the-activities-of-tajik-national-university-in-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tnu.tj\/index.php\/en\/from-the-activities-of-tajik-national-university-in-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"FROM THE ACTIVITIES OF TAJIK NATIONAL UNIVERSITY IN 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Tajik National University, as a leading institution of higher professional education in the country, has effectively organized its activities in the fields of education, science, innovation, upbringing, international relations, and economic and financial management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the teaching staff, employees, and students, Tajik National University achieved a number of significant accomplishments and memorable events in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1)<\/strong> The most important and unforgettable historical event for the teaching staff, employees, and students of the University during the reporting period was the visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, and the Mayor of Dushanbe, His Excellency Rustam Emomali, to Tajik National University on June 20, 2025. During the visit, the Diagnostic, Treatment, and Training Center of Tajik National University located in the Student Township was officially inaugurated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2)<\/strong> It is gratifying to note that, by the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan dated November 22, 2025, No. 634, the Charter of Tajik National University and the State Educational Standards of Tajik National University were approved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3)<\/strong> Another achievement of the University is related to the development and expansion of its scientific and educational capacities, as well as aligning the education system with modern requirements and the global labor market. In order to implement the instructions and directives of the Leader of the Nation delivered at the Seventh Meeting of the Board of the Agency for Supervision in the Field of Education and Science under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the issue of opening new academic programs was given serious consideration. As a result, Tajik National University was authorized to launch 12 new bachelor\u2019s degree programs characterized by modern relevance, competitiveness, and high demand in the labor market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4)<\/strong> Within the framework of the state\u2019s social policy and with the aim of improving the quality of medical services, the Faculty of Dentistry was established at Tajik National University on the basis of the Faculty of Medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5)<\/strong> In connection with the establishment of the new faculty, and based on the existing departments of Therapeutic Dentistry and Orthopedic Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery, two new departments were created: the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry and the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery. As a result, the total number of departments at the University reached 128.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6)<\/strong> In order to implement the state policy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of digitalization of governance, improve the records management system, enhance the efficiency of administrative activities, ensure transparency, and align documentation processes with modern requirements, an Electronic Document Management System was established and put into operation at Tajik National University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>7)<\/strong> In recent years, in light of the instructions and directives of the Leader of the Nation aimed at improving the quality of education and upbringing and aligning it with international education standards, including inclusion in international rankings, Tajik National University has undertaken the necessary measures. As a result, during the reporting year, the international university ranking organization <strong>QS Quacquarelli Symonds<\/strong> announced the new results of the <strong>QS Asia University Rankings 2026<\/strong>. Tajik National University was included in this prestigious list as the only institution of higher professional education of the Republic of Tajikistan. In the ranking, the University scored <strong>23.2 points<\/strong>, placing it among the <strong>top 45 percent of the best universities in Asia<\/strong>. Compared to the results of 2022\u20132025, this represents the best achievement of Tajik National University in the QS rankings. The new QS ranking included <strong>1,529 leading universities in Asia<\/strong>, which is <strong>542 more universities<\/strong> than in the previous year.<br>At the same time, the University was also ranked among the world\u2019s leading universities in the <strong>UI GreenMetric World University Ranking<\/strong>, which is developed based on the criteria of the Sustainable Development Goals. Among <strong>1,747 universities from 105 countries<\/strong>, Tajik National University achieved a prominent position with a score of <strong>4,820 points<\/strong>. It should be noted that Tajik National University has now been included in <strong>three major global university rankings<\/strong>: <strong>UI GreenMetric<\/strong>, <strong>QS<\/strong>, and <strong>Times Higher Education<\/strong>, achieving a distinguished position in all three rankings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>8)<\/strong> During this period, in accordance with the instructions and directives of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, regarding the transition to international accreditation, Tajik National University implemented important measures. In the reporting year, the University cooperated with the <strong>Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR\/NAAR)<\/strong>, through which <strong>11 academic programs<\/strong> were reviewed by an international commission across five clusters. These programs included: Accounting, Analysis and Audit; Management; World Economy; International Law; Journalism; Geological Survey; Geological Exploration and Exploration of Mineral Resources; Informatics; Modern Foreign Languages (English); Tajik Philology; Russian Language and Literature; and Dentistry (Bachelor\u2019s degree). As a result, all <strong>11 academic programs successfully passed the accreditation review<\/strong> of the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (NAAR) and were awarded <strong>International Accreditation Certificates valid for five years<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>9)<\/strong> Another significant event during the reporting period was the visit of the Rector of Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov, Doctor of Technical Sciences and Professor <strong>Rustam Ibragimovich Kholmurodov<\/strong>, to Tajik National University. On <strong>May 20, 2025<\/strong>, at an extended extraordinary meeting of the University Academic Council, Professor Kholmurodov was awarded the honorary title of <strong>\u201cHonorary Doctor of Tajik National University.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>10)<\/strong> Ensuring favorable living conditions for employees in the fields of science and education and improving their welfare remain under the constant attention of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, and the salaries of these employees are increased annually. Accordingly, from <strong>September 1, 2025<\/strong>, the salaries of teaching staff and employees of higher professional education institutions funded from the state budget were increased by <strong>20%<\/strong>. In addition, the administration of Tajik National University decided, based on a resolution of the University Academic Council, to further increase the salaries of the University\u2019s teaching staff and core employees by an additional <strong>10% starting from September 1, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>11)<\/strong> Another achievement of the University in 2025 was the <strong>first-place award<\/strong> won by the University\u2019s Olympiad team at the Republican Olympiad. During the reporting year, the Republican Olympiad among higher professional education institutions of the country was held at the branch of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan in the city of <strong>Levakand<\/strong>. More than <strong>500 students from 35 higher education institutions<\/strong> across the country participated in the competition. It is a source of pride that the University\u2019s student Olympiad team secured <strong>first place overall<\/strong>, winning a total of <strong>9 prizes<\/strong> (5 first places, 3 second places, and 1 third place) among the teams of higher professional education institutions of the Republic, and was awarded diplomas, medals, and commemorative gifts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>12)<\/strong> Based on decrees of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the national competitions <strong>\u201cFurughi Subhi Donoi Kitob Ast\u201d (Knowledge Begins with Books)<\/strong>, <strong>\u201cScience \u2013 the Light of Enlightenment\u201d<\/strong>, and <strong>\u201cTajikistan \u2013 My Beloved Homeland\u201d<\/strong> were established. It is a matter of pride for the teaching staff and students of the University that Tajik National University consistently remains a leading participant in these competitions. In the final stage of the national competitions <strong>\u201cFurughi Subhi Donoi Kitob Ast\u201d<\/strong> and <strong>\u201cScience \u2013 the Light of Enlightenment,\u201d<\/strong> the University\u2019s student teams participated in various nominations and won a total of <strong>11 honorary places<\/strong>. In the district stage of the national competition <strong>\u201cTajikistan \u2013 My Beloved Homeland,\u201d<\/strong> in the vocal performance category, <strong>Shoira Ismoilova<\/strong>, a student of the Faculty of Law, won <strong>second place<\/strong>, and at the city stage, she was awarded <strong>third place<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>13)<\/strong> The active participation of the University\u2019s students in international-level competitions has also been notable. On <strong>May 15, 2025<\/strong>, the final round of the <strong>24th International \u201cChinese Bridge\u201d Competition<\/strong> among students of higher education institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan was held at the <strong>Tajik State Pedagogical University named after S. Aini<\/strong>. <strong>Laylo Murodova<\/strong>, a second-year student majoring in <strong>Chinese\u2013Tajik Language<\/strong> at the Faculty of Asian and European Languages, won <strong>first place<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>14)<\/strong> In addition, from <strong>May 12 to 15, 2025<\/strong>, two important international-level events dedicated to the <strong>30th anniversary of the neutrality of the Republic of Turkmenistan<\/strong> were held in <strong>Ashgabat, Turkmenistan<\/strong>. The first event was an <strong>International Conference<\/strong> entitled <em>\u201cForeign Policy and Diplomacy of Turkmenistan: Cooperation for Peace, Security, and Sustainable Development\u201d<\/em>, and the second was the <strong>Second International Student Forum<\/strong> entitled <em>\u201cInternational Relations: The Culture of Peaceful Dialogue.\u201d<\/em> On <strong>May 12<\/strong>, within the framework of these events, an <strong>International Olympiad<\/strong> was held with the participation of representatives from <strong>13 countries and 39 universities<\/strong>. Based on the results of the Olympiad, <strong>Sino Safarzoda<\/strong>, a student of the University, won <strong>first place<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>15)<\/strong> From <strong>April 21 to 25, 2025<\/strong>, the <strong>15th Eurasian Youth Economic Forum<\/strong> was held in <strong>Yekaterinburg, Russian Federation<\/strong>. Within the framework of the Forum, various international-level competitions were organized, in which the University\u2019s Olympiad team actively participated. Members of the Olympiad team of Tajik National University participated both <strong>in person and online<\/strong>, winning a total of <strong>5 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals<\/strong>. At the same time, the University\u2019s Olympiad team achieved victories in the nominations <strong>\u201cBest Performance in the CIS,\u201d \u201cBest Essay,\u201d \u201cBest Scientific Research Paper,\u201d<\/strong> and <strong>\u201cBest Scientific Idea.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>16)<\/strong> Furthermore, from <strong>September 20 to 27, 2025<\/strong>, the <strong>International Astronomy Olympiad \u2013 2025 (Open World Astronomy Olympiad \u2013 OWAO 2025)<\/strong> was held in <strong>Sochi, Russian Federation<\/strong>. <strong>Huseyni Ghulomzoda<\/strong>, a student of the Faculty of Physics of Tajik National University, participated in the Olympiad and was awarded a <strong>bronze medal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>17)<\/strong> During the reporting period, <strong>one graduate<\/strong> of the <strong>Natural Sciences and Mathematics Lyceum affiliated with the University<\/strong> was awarded a <strong>Certificate of Excellence<\/strong> and a <strong>gold medal<\/strong> in the natural sciences and mathematics track, while <strong>six graduates of Grade 9<\/strong> received <strong>Certificates of Distinction (Red Certificates)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>18)<\/strong> On the initiative of the <strong>Committee for Women and Family Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan<\/strong>, a <strong>national competition<\/strong> entitled <em>\u201cWhoever Recites the Shahnameh\u2026\u201d<\/em> was held among female students of secondary and higher professional education institutions in honor of <strong>Youth Day of Tajikistan<\/strong>. In this competition, <strong>Parinamoh Nazirova<\/strong>, a student of the Faculty of Philology of the University, won the <strong>Grand Prize<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>19)<\/strong> Another important achievement during the reporting period was the opening of the <strong>Japan Studies Center<\/strong> at the Faculty of Law of the University. The establishment of the Japan Studies Center will contribute to the development of academic and educational cooperation, strengthening continuous dialogue, and fostering the development of relations between <strong>Tajikistan and Japan<\/strong> within the framework of long-term partnership. Currently, <strong>25 learners (University students)<\/strong> are studying the Japanese language at the Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>20)<\/strong> Another significant event in 2025 was the opening of the <strong>Training Center on Combating Transnational Organized Crime<\/strong>. The Center was established on <strong>March 20, 2025<\/strong>, at the Faculty of Law of Tajik National University in order to implement relevant provisions of the Action Plan for the realization of the <strong>\u201cState Program for Combating Crime in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021\u20132030.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>21)<\/strong> During the reporting period, another important event was the opening of the <strong>Korean Language Training Center<\/strong> at the University. The purpose of establishing this Center is to teach the Korean language in accordance with the academic specializations of the <strong>Faculty of Asian and European Languages<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>22)<\/strong> Within the framework of the project <strong>\u201cAddressing Environmental Concerns, Social Needs, and Good Governance in Education and Employment in Central Asia,\u201d<\/strong> the <strong>Analytical Center for Sustainable Development and Digital Economy<\/strong> was established at the University in <strong>November<\/strong>. Preparatory work for equipping the Center is currently underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>23)<\/strong> Another important achievement relates to the University\u2019s medical activities. On <strong>February 22, 2025<\/strong>, new offices and educational classrooms of the <strong>Department of Human Anatomy<\/strong> of the Faculty of Medicine were officially put into operation. Following renovation and refurbishment, the classrooms were equipped with the necessary facilities and include: staff offices, <strong>six classrooms for practical training<\/strong>, <strong>one anatomical dissection laboratory<\/strong>, <strong>one anatomy laboratory<\/strong>, <strong>one lecture hall<\/strong>, <strong>four electronic boards<\/strong>, visual teaching aids, anatomical models, and specialized banners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>24)<\/strong> Another achievement is related to the University\u2019s sports activities. The student team of <strong>Tajik National University<\/strong> actively participated in the <strong>Futsal League Competition among Higher Professional Education Institutions<\/strong> and won <strong>third place<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>25)<\/strong> It should be noted that one of the most important issues in the modern system of science and education of the country is promoting an increase in the number of scholars and researchers holding academic degrees and titles. This issue is consistently emphasized and thoroughly discussed during meetings of the Leader of the Nation with representatives of the scientific and educational community. In light of these priorities, the University administration undertook urgent measures to increase the number of scholars and researchers with academic degrees and titles. A range of initiatives was implemented to ensure the timely defense of dissertations and to recognize the scientific output of scholars.<br>Accordingly, teaching staff and core employees of the University who defended <strong>Candidate of Sciences<\/strong> and <strong>Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)<\/strong> dissertations, as well as <strong>Doctoral<\/strong> and <strong>Habilitation Doctor<\/strong> dissertations in <strong>priority and rare fields<\/strong> in 2025 were incentivized with financial rewards of <strong>25,000 TJS<\/strong> and <strong>35,000 TJS<\/strong>, respectively.<br>Furthermore, based on a resolution of the University Academic Council, teaching staff and core employees who defended <strong>Candidate of Sciences<\/strong>, <strong>PhD<\/strong>, <strong>Doctoral<\/strong>, and <strong>Habilitation Doctor<\/strong> dissertations in <strong>other scientific fields<\/strong> in 2025 received incentives of <strong>20,000 TJS<\/strong> and <strong>30,000 TJS<\/strong>, respectively.<br>This initiative has been expanded for the current year, <strong>2026<\/strong>, with planned incentives of <strong>35,000 TJS<\/strong> for candidate-level dissertation defenses and <strong>45,000 TJS<\/strong> for doctoral-level defenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>26)<\/strong> In order to enhance the status of women at the University\u2014one of the priorities of the state policy of the Republic of Tajikistan\u2014the University administration has created favorable conditions for conducting research and scientific studies in the fields of natural, mathematical, and exact sciences. As a result, scholars of Tajik National University, including women, actively participated in international exhibitions, where their scientific achievements received honorary recognition.<br>In particular, from <strong>February 16 to 19, 2025<\/strong>, the <strong>15th International Invention Exhibition of the Middle East<\/strong> was held in the <strong>State of Kuwait<\/strong>. Among <strong>197 participants from 42 countries worldwide<\/strong>, representatives of Tajik National University were awarded <strong>two gold medals<\/strong> (<strong>Sh. R. Samihzoda<\/strong> and <strong>R. M. Alovuddinzoda<\/strong>) and <strong>one silver medal<\/strong> (<strong>M. Yo. Yorov<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>27)<\/strong> In addition, from <strong>May 22 to 24, 2025<\/strong>, the <strong>International Invention Exhibition \u201cWomen Inventors \u2013 KIWIE 2025\u201d<\/strong> was held in <strong>Seoul, Republic of Korea<\/strong>. At this exhibition, <strong>Rukhshona Aloviddinzoda<\/strong>, Deputy Director of the Research Institute of Tajik National University, was awarded a <strong>gold medal<\/strong> of the international exhibition as well as a <strong>special prize<\/strong> from the <strong>Korea Institute of Patent Information<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>28)<\/strong> In addition, from <strong>October 6 to 8, 2025<\/strong>, an <strong>International Scientific and Practical Conference<\/strong> entitled <em>\u201cProspects of Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry\u201d<\/em> was held in <strong>Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan<\/strong>. During the conference, <strong>Shahnosa Egamova<\/strong>, Head of the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery of the University, Candidate of Medical Sciences and Associate Professor, was admitted as a <strong>full member of the World Dental Association<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>29)<\/strong> In support of the constructive initiative of the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mayor of Dushanbe, President of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA), and President of the Tajikistan Football Federation, <strong>His Excellency Rustam Emomali<\/strong>, regarding the adoption of a special resolution of the <strong>United Nations<\/strong> and the declaration of <strong>World Football Day (May 25)<\/strong>, the University established a <strong>five-a-side football team \u201cSomon.\u201d<\/strong> The team has gained a distinctive position among the professional teams of the Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>30)<\/strong> Other achievements of the University during the reporting period are related to awards from international competitions. In <strong>January of the reporting year<\/strong>, the <strong>Third International Competition \u201cDiscovering the World of Intellectual Property\u201d<\/strong> was held in the <strong>Republic of Belarus<\/strong>, with participation of the University\u2019s students. <strong>Ahmadjon Tohirovich Nazarov<\/strong>, a second-year student of the Faculty of Chemistry of Tajik National University, won <strong>first place<\/strong> in this competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>31)<\/strong> Within the framework of scientific and cultural cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, various events of different levels have been organized. In the reporting year, to honor <strong>Mir Alisher Navoi<\/strong>\u2014the great 15th-century scholar, poet, and thinker\u2014the <strong>4th International Symposium<\/strong> entitled <em>\u201cAlisher Navoi and the Renaissance of the East\u201d<\/em> was held at <strong>Alisher Navoi State University of Uzbekistan<\/strong>. At this international event, the Republic of Tajikistan was represented by <strong>Badriddin Maqsudov<\/strong>, Doctor of Philological Sciences and Professor of the Department of History of Tajik Literature at the Faculty of Philology of Tajik National University, who delivered a presentation and was awarded the <strong>international medal \u201cDevotee of Spirituality.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>32)<\/strong> By decree of the President of the <strong>Islamic Republic of Pakistan<\/strong>, <strong>Mr. Asif Ali Zardari<\/strong>, the <strong>highest state award \u201cSitara-e-Quaid-e-Azam\u201d<\/strong> was conferred upon <strong>Haydar Qurbonov<\/strong>, Associate Professor of the Department of Hindi Philology at the Faculty of Asian and European Languages of the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>33)<\/strong> <strong>M. S. Imomzoda<\/strong>, Professor of the Faculty of Philology and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, participated in the <strong>Interstate Award Competition \u201cStars of the Commonwealth\u201d<\/strong> of the <strong>Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)<\/strong> and became a <strong>laureate of the Interstate Award \u201cStars of the Commonwealth.\u201d<\/strong><br>In addition, <strong>Sorbon Zafarov<\/strong>, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Organic Chemistry of the Faculty of Chemistry, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, was awarded the <strong>CIS Prize \u201cUnion of First Initiatives\u201d<\/strong> among young researchers in the field of natural sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>34) In June 2025, students of the University participated in the Second International Olympiad held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, which brought together representatives of 79 universities and institutes from 13 countries worldwide. As a result, the University\u2019s students won one first-place award and five third-place awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>35) Another notable achievement of the University was recorded on the occasion of Tajik Science Day, when Murod Murodi, Professor of the Faculty of Journalism, was awarded the title \u201cScientist of the Year\u201d in the field of humanities. At the same time, Ra\u2019no Nasriddinova, a fourth-year student of the Faculty of International Relations, won second place in the national competition \u201cStudent of the Year \u2013 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>36) Another important development during the reporting period was the official business visits of the University\u2019s leadership, teaching staff, and employees aimed at expanding international cooperation. In particular, from June 11 to 14, 2025, an International Scientific Conference entitled <em>\u201c700 Years with Hafez\u201d<\/em> was held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France. This high-level academic conference was dedicated to the 700th anniversary of the birth of the great Persian\u2013Tajik mystic and poet Hafez of Shiraz. The delegation of Tajik National University, including distinguished professors Sirojiddini Emomali, Badriddin Maqsudov, Mirzo Solehov, Mehr\u012b Mahmadova, and Associate Professor Vahhobzoda Rustam, participated in the conference and delivered presentations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>37) It is a source of pride that during the reporting period, a number of the University\u2019s faculty members and staff were honored by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, particularly by the Leader of the Nation, with state medals and honorary distinctions. To align the educational process with international standards, the University launched foreign-language academic programs in the 2024\u20132025 academic year.<br>Within the Faculty of Medicine, an English-language group was established with the enrollment of foreign nationals, and more than 120 foreign students, alongside domestic students, were admitted to study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Educational and Methodological Activities<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In accordance with its assigned responsibilities, during the 2024\u20132025 academic year the University\u2019s Academic Affairs Office, alongside its routine educational and methodological activities, focused its work on fulfilling a wide range of tasks. These included monitoring the teaching process, organizing the educational workflow, tracking students\u2019 academic progress and learning outcomes, preparing the necessary documentation to ensure the organized and high-quality delivery of classes, reviewing the educational and methodological documentation of faculties, ensuring the regular conduct of classes, verifying compliance with curriculum requirements, improving the organization of educational activities, and supervising the implementation of the teaching workload of the University\u2019s faculty members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the 2024\u20132025 academic year, in accordance with the current curricula and the requirements of the State Standard of Higher Professional Education of the Republic of Tajikistan, educational programs and curricula for 134 active academic specialties were successfully launched. In addition, during the second semester, the Agency for Supervision in the Field of Education and Science under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan granted licenses for 12 new academic specialties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The educational process in the full-time, distance, and part-time (extramural) divisions was traditionally conducted across three levels of education\u2014Bachelor\u2019s, Specialist, and Master\u2019s\u2014in three languages: Tajik, Russian, and English, in accordance with approved curricula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Academic Staff and Student Enrollment<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At present, the University operates 128 departments (including 122 specialized departments, 6 general university departments, and one military department). A total of 1,379 faculty members are engaged in educational and methodological activities, including 12 academicians and 16 corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan. Among them are 226 Doctors of Sciences and Professors and 685 Candidates of Sciences and Associate Professors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is noteworthy that 911 full-time faculty members at the University hold academic degrees and titles, constituting 68.42% of the University\u2019s main teaching staff. This figure is among the highest indicators across higher education institutions in the Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the total faculty, 400 (30.00%) are women, including 1 full member (academician) of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, 47 Doctors of Science and Professors, 190 Candidates of Science, Associate Professors, and Assistants. In total, 237 women faculty members at the University hold academic degrees and titles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Number of Students<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the 2025\u20132026 academic year, the University enrolls 23,658 students, of whom 18,505 are full-time, and 4,479 are enrolled in part-time or distance learning programs. Among these, 674 are Master\u2019s students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the total student body, 9,464 (40%) are female and 14,297 (60%) are male.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The University comprises 20 faculties housed in 20 academic buildings, providing a total of 18,315 seats per class session. According to the annex of the License for Conducting Educational Activities issued by the Agency for Supervision in Education and Science under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, the educational area allocated per student is 7.0 m\u00b2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monitoring, Surveys, and Quality Control of Education<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The staff of the Quality Control Department continuously monitor and guide the teaching staff to strengthen their professional skills, implement modern active teaching methods, utilize information and communication technologies, visual aids, and various forms of lesson presentations. These efforts aim to continuously improve the quality of education at the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Presidential Quota Students<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students admitted under the Presidential Quota of the Republic of Tajikistan receive constant attention from the University administration and faculty deans. At the University, 254 students are enrolled under this quota across 14 faculties, of whom 111 are female and 143 are male. Among these quota students, 116 reside in the University dormitories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Examination Sessions and Scholarships for the 2024\u20132025 Academic Year<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>assessment and examination sessions<\/strong> for the 2024\u20132025 academic year (summer session) were scheduled in accordance with the current educational plans by the order of the Rector for the full-time programs of the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In accordance with the decisions of the <strong>Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan<\/strong> (May 15, 2024, No. 82-09 for the summer session and May 7, 2025, No. 89-09 for the winter session), the examinations were conducted with a <strong>60% oral component<\/strong> and a <strong>40% written test component<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the summer session, the results of knowledge acquisition were <strong>99.1% for oral exams<\/strong> and <strong>98.05% for test exams<\/strong>. The quality of education, defined as the percentage of students who passed with <strong>\u201cgood\u201d and \u201cexcellent\u201d grades<\/strong>, was <strong>39.2% for oral exams<\/strong> and <strong>36.6% for test exams<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After summarizing the results of both the winter and summer sessions, the knowledge acquisition rates reached <strong>99.1% and 99.01%<\/strong>, while the quality of education reached <strong>37% and 39%<\/strong>, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Scholarships<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For students who achieved <strong>excellent academic performance<\/strong> and demonstrated <strong>exemplary conduct<\/strong>, the University has established <strong>merit-based scholarships<\/strong>. The total number of such scholarships at the University is <strong>55<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the <strong>Presidential Scholarship of the Republic of Tajikistan<\/strong> is awarded to <strong>20 top-performing students<\/strong> who also exhibit exemplary behavior. Furthermore, <strong>37 socially vulnerable students<\/strong>, including orphans and students with first- and second-degree disabilities, received social scholarships. <strong>35 students<\/strong> in state-funded programs with excellent performance also received merit-based scholarships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Analysis showed that, considering <strong>first-year students<\/strong>, a total of <strong>2,367 students<\/strong> received scholarships. Of these:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>994 students (41.99%)<\/strong> received <strong>excellent scholarships<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1,103 students (46.59%)<\/strong> received <strong>good-to-excellent scholarships<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>150 students (6.33%)<\/strong> received <strong>average scholarships<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the total number of <strong>state-funded students<\/strong> (3,982 students in the second semester of the 2024\u20132025 academic year), <strong>59.44% received scholarships<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For students who demonstrate <strong>excellent academic performance and exemplary conduct<\/strong>, the University maintains <strong>merit-based scholarships<\/strong>, including both <strong>Presidential and named scholarships<\/strong>, totaling <strong>55 awards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Practical Training and Professional Development<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At the <strong>20 faculties of the National University of Tajikistan<\/strong>, where students study in <strong>134 specialties<\/strong>, practical training is organized according to the existing educational plans of the faculties. Students undergo <strong>four types of practical training<\/strong>: educational, industrial, teaching, and pre-diploma. This training is conducted in their respective <strong>specialty departments, organizations, ministries, law enforcement agencies, media outlets, university training bases, and other institutions across the country<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Natural and Mathematical Lyceum of the University<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lyceum provides <strong>favorable conditions for all students<\/strong> in both <strong>exact sciences and humanities<\/strong>. In the <strong>2024\u20132025 academic year<\/strong>, <strong>974 students<\/strong> studied at the Lyceum, of which <strong>360 were girls<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>primary classes (grades 1\u20134)<\/strong> include <strong>20 classes<\/strong> with <strong>517 students<\/strong>, of whom <strong>207 are girls<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>secondary classes (grades 5\u201311)<\/strong> include <strong>20 classes<\/strong> with <strong>457 students<\/strong>, of whom <strong>153 are girls<\/strong>, and <strong>20 subject teachers<\/strong> are assigned as class advisors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lyceum employs <strong>62 teachers<\/strong>, including <strong>51 full-time teachers<\/strong> and <strong>11 part-time teachers<\/strong>. During the <strong>2024\u20132025 academic year<\/strong>, <strong>14 teachers<\/strong> improved their pedagogical skills through <strong>advanced professional development courses<\/strong> at the <strong>Institute for Advanced Training in Dushanbe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Institute for Advanced Training of Teachers<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2025, the <strong>Institute for Advanced Training of Teachers<\/strong> under the National University of Tajikistan organized and conducted <strong>advanced professional courses<\/strong> for teachers and staff of secondary and higher vocational education institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>In total, <strong>23 advanced courses<\/strong> were held, including <strong>9 mobile courses<\/strong> and <strong>14 in-house courses<\/strong>, involving <strong>766 teachers<\/strong> from secondary and higher vocational education institutions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additionally, <strong>30 employees from law enforcement agencies<\/strong> participated in professional development and retraining courses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Among the <strong>766 participants<\/strong>, <strong>276 were teachers from the National University of Tajikistan<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Scientific and Research Activities<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>During the reporting year, the university\u2019s faculty and staff conducted <strong>scientific research<\/strong> on <strong>43 areas, 100 topics, and 123 research themes<\/strong>, which were organized into <strong>four main scientific branches<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, out of the total number of university faculty and staff, <strong>1,352 individuals participated in scientific research activities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Scientific Publications and Research Indicators<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, the number of <strong>scientific articles published in international journals<\/strong> has increased compared to previous years, reaching <strong>299 articles<\/strong>, of which <strong>58 were published in Scopus-indexed journals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the university\u2019s <strong>key indicators in international rankings<\/strong> is the publication of faculty and staff articles in reputable journals indexed in <strong>Scopus and Web of Science<\/strong>. The <strong>Hirsch Index (h-index)<\/strong> of the university in 2025 reached <strong>49<\/strong> (compared to 47 in 2024), reflecting the recognition and citation impact of the faculty\u2019s and researchers\u2019 publications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To further <strong>increase the number of scientific publications in Scopus and Web of Science journals<\/strong>, the university administration has not only provided the necessary conditions but also established a <strong>monetary incentive of 3,000 somoni for each published article<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Innovation and Inventions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Innovative and inventive activities represent another important direction of the university\u2019s work. Additionally, the center collaborates with the <strong>\u201cScience and Nature\u201d TV channel<\/strong>, broadcasting the program <strong>\u201cInformation Technology\u201d<\/strong> every Tuesday with the participation of the university\u2019s professors and researchers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Technology Park:<\/strong> The activity of the <strong>Technology Park<\/strong> has been significant during the reporting period. In 2025, the park operated <strong>8 production directions<\/strong>, which is <strong>4 more than in 2024<\/strong>. This number represents <strong>194 more events<\/strong> compared to the same period in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>International Relations Activities of the University<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The international relations activities of the university have been established based on the <strong>educational policy of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, esteemed Emomali Rahmon<\/strong>, and are continuously developing and improving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The establishment of <strong>multifaceted scientific and educational cooperation<\/strong> between the university and foreign universities and research centers remains a central focus of the university administration. Constant efforts are made to ensure that these collaborations grow and expand. In 2025, through the initiative and continuous efforts of the university rector, <strong>25 agreements<\/strong> were signed with universities and partner institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the university, <strong>538 foreign citizens<\/strong> have been involved as lecturers, Ph.D. holders, traditional doctoral students, postgraduates, research trainees, master\u2019s students, undergraduates, and language learners. To monitor the participation of foreign students in classes at all levels of education, the <strong>International Relations Department<\/strong>, in collaboration with the Academic Affairs Office, the Quality Control Department, and the faculty administrations, has been implementing targeted measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the 2024-2025 academic year, <strong>21 foreign students<\/strong> studied languages at the Language Learning Center. Among them, <strong>19 studied Tajik<\/strong> and <strong>2 studied Russian<\/strong>. The students represented the following countries: China (7 students), the USA (6 students studying Tajik), Australia (2 students), South Korea (1 student studying Tajik), Canada (1 student), Saudi Arabia (1 student studying Russian), Slovakia (1 student studying Tajik), Germany (1 student studying Tajik), and Turkmenistan (1 student).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Confucius Institute at the National University of Tajikistan<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Confucius Institute at the National University of Tajikistan carried out its activities in 2025 in accordance with the approved plan. From February 10 to 14, 2025, the Institute conducted registration of students for the spring semester of the 2025 academic year, with classes commencing on February 17. According to the statistics, 1,057 students enrolled in Chinese language courses during the spring semester, of which 67 students received tuition-free education for one semester due to their academic merits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From September 8 to 13, 2025, the Institute conducted registration of students for the fall semester of the 2025 academic year, and classes began on September 15. In the fall semester, 1,089 students were enrolled in Chinese language courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the reporting year, the Institute achieved significant accomplishments, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>2nd and 3rd place in the 5th World Competition for recording videos, \u201cBest Confucius Institute\u201d;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Outstanding place in the 24th World Competition \u201cChinese Bridge\u201d among students;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3rd and 4th place in the international competition \u201cShort Films on Chinese Language Lessons\u201d;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1st and 2nd place in the 5th competition \u201cTelling Stories about China in English\u201d;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3rd place in the photography contest \u201cParliament Building of Tajikistan and Government Building of Tajikistan \u2013 Symbols of China-Tajik Friendship Built with Chinese Assistance\u201d;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Institute also hosted the International Conference on Chinese Language Learning alongside the calligraphy and art exhibition \u201cChinese Bridge \u2013 2025\u201d and won the award for \u201cInternet Popularity.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Economic and Financial Activities<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Economic and Social Department of the National University of Tajikistan carried out a range of measures during the reporting year to ensure favorable material, moral, and social conditions for faculty, staff, and students in cooperation with other university departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notable achievements include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Renovation of the library in the Faculty of Philosophy building;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establishment of the Diagnostic, Treatment, and Educational Center, and the Department of Human Anatomy as an educational base for the Faculty of Medicine with 100 seats;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relocation of the Department of Pedagogy from Educational Building No. 3 to the new facility alongside the anatomy department.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the letter of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan dated May 8, 2025, No. 12(75)01-101, the university constructed a school with 4 classrooms and a teachers\u2019 room in the village of Qalaycha, Hisorak Rural Community, Rasht District.
