On August 27, 2021, a scientific and theoretical conference was held on the theme ” Emomali Rahmon is one of the founders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)”.
The conference was jointly organized by the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Tajik National University. The conference was attended by representatives of ministries and government agencies, research centers and institutions, scientists, experts, local and foreign journalists.
The purpose of the event was to assess the role and contribution of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon in the creation, formation and development of the SCO and discuss the constructive initiatives of the Leader of the Nation within the framework of this Organization.
The following issues were discussed and considered at the conference:
— The contribution of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the esteemed Emomali Rahmon in establishing the SCO;
— Initiatives of the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon within the framework of the SCO:
— Political initiatives;
— Security initiatives;
— Economic initiatives;
— Humanitarian initiatives;
— The role of Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon in the development of the SCO;
— Initiatives and contributions of Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon in discussing peace and security issues in Afghanistan within the SCO;
— Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon’s contribution to the development of Tajikistan’s multilateral diplomacy within the SCO framework;
— The role of the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon in forming a positive image of the Republic of Tajikistan within the SCO framework;
— «Shanghai Diplomacy» as an achievement of the foreign policy of the Republic of Tajikistan during the period of state independence;
— The role and place of the SCO in the new international system;
— SCO: 20 years of achievements and prospects of cooperation development;
— The role of SCO in the discussion of current international problems.
The conference was opened with welcoming remarks by Khurshed Ziyoi, Director of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Then the speeches were followed by the addresses of Nurullo Okilzoda,
Senior Adviser of the Office of the Assistant to the President of the Republic
of Tajikistan on Social Development and Public Affairs,
Farhod Rahimi, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan,
Rashid Alimov, former SCO Secretary-General (2016-2018), Abduhalil Gafurzoda,
Rector of the SCO Friendship and Cooperation Centre under the President of
Tajikistan and Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the
President of the Republic of Tajikistan and Qobiljon Khushvakhtzoda, Rector of
Tajik National University.
