Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Tajikistan Ji Shumin met with TNU students

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and the People’s Republic of China, a meeting was held between Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Tajikistan Ji Shumin and students of the Tajik National University.

The meeting was opened by the rector of TNU, professor Khushvakhtzoda Q. Kh, who congratulated teachers, students and guests on the 30th anniversary of the XVI session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Day of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and also welcomed the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Tajikistan Ji Shumin.

During his speech, the rector spoke about trade and economic ties between Tajikistan and People’s Republic of China, as well as cooperation in the field of education and science. The rector noted that more than 3,000 Tajik students study at more than 112 different higher educational institutions in China.

Also, the Confucius Institute at the Tajik National University has a large number of Tajik students who are interested in learning or deepening their knowledge of the Chinese language and culture.

Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Tajikistan Ji Shumin thanked the Rector of the Tajik National University for the warm welcome and spoke about bilateral relations between Tajikistan and China.

The ambassador also spoke about his diplomatic activities and the students of the university were able to ask the ambassador their questions.
