On March 3, 2021, international scientific-practical conference « The role of Mirzo Tursunzoda in the development of national literature and culture » dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Hero of Tajikistan, the great poet Mirzo Tursunzod was held at the TNU campus under the support of the Department of Theory and Modern Tajik Persian Literature.
Rector of the university, professor Khushvakhtzoda Q.Kh., First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan Mohammaddovud Salomiyon, Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Tajikistan, Nizom Qosim and Professor of the Republic of Uzbekistan J. Khamraev spoke to the plenary.
The conference was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Viraj Singh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Tajikistan Mohammad Zahir Aghbar, representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation to the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as representatives of scientific and educational institutions.
It was noted that Mirzo Tursunzoda is the true patriot. Each of the master’s poems embodies such feelings like love and the promotion of human ideals, which will be enough for many generations to grow up in the spirit of humanity, friendship and love for relatives and homeland.
Students of the Faculty of Philology and Journalism presented poems and played a musical instrument as a tribute to the legendary poet.
